The Ready…Set …Sniff …5K Run/1 Mile Walk, sponsored by Charm City Run, allows participants to either run or walk around Baltimore’s Patterson Park with their 4-legged friends while raising funds for the four-legged animals at BARCS.

We have an opportunity to meet (face to face) some amazing wolves with a very special purpose in this life and to provide HTA sessions for several wolves and wolf/dog mixes who call this place home. I encourage you to come and hear the amazing story of how RMWF began with Cheyenne, a wolf that was able to detect cancer in many individuals (confirmed by drs) and brought people from around the world to Guffey to meet her. We will receive a personal tour of the facility, and for those interested, an opportunity to be in the pen with a few wolves that have taken on Cheyenne's mission of healing. (note - they love to lick your face). We are going to start an hour earlier than last year so we have time to work on the wolves before dark.

This volunteer group will provide you with opportunities to work with horses, burro's, goats, llamas, sheep, dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys and ducks.

The animals are wonderful to work with and may accelerate your skills as you become more comfortable working off body - this will be a great help before level 3 in August. Of course, you can always work with the dogs, cats and horses if you prefer, they typically allow hands on. And you may prefer to work in pairs so one can hold the animal.

Harnesses/halters are available if needed. Volunteers will also be available as needed. We will be outside so please bring sunscreen, hats etc. You may want to bring a pad to kneel on or portable chair for the little guys as we will be in the enclosure with all of them. We will need to have open eyes as the horses are in this enclosure also. They will tie up Pancake, the goat that likes to butt.

Additional Request: they are no longer receiving fresh fruits/vegetables from their suppliers. For a special treat after the energy work, please bring fruits/vegetables (no bread, no citrus) for the animals - they love it! Apples and carrots are their favorite, leafy greens are also healthy for them. We are also invited to bring our own lunches and can have time together on their front porch before we head home.

Due to the storm, we have rescheduled Cavy Care for Sunday March 3rd, same time. Please let me know if you can attend this date... They just received 40 guinea pigs from New Mexico, all terrified, chewed up, many pregnant!! This is in addition to the 40 they already had. This organization never refuses the little ones. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could support their amazing dedication with a large group of HTA practitioners!

Even though our winter has been mild, it is always fun to spend a winter afternoon at Cavy Care - home of 40+ guinea pigs looking for their permanent homes. If you haven't been before, it is a hoot, or shall I say "whistle". If you have, please join us again on Sunday 2/24 from 1-4pm. Additionally, we can work with their family dogs, fish, bearded dragson (they love the work) and whatever other critters make their way to this special place. We will receive lessons on how to handle the little ones and some interesting facts. 99% of them love to be held so we can do hands-on techniques with most. Remember to bring your manuals, pendulums, treatment forms, tuning forks and a pad/chair - and your big hearts as we together raise the vibration in our community! Please note there are many cautions using essential oils with guinea pigs and rabbits so it is best to not use the oils unless you have researched those species specifically.

An overview of HTA will be provided. The presentation will provide examples of how HTA can support animals facing surgeries and ailments; it will also illustrate how HTA assists with behavior issues and ongoing wellness. In addition, Jill and Danielle will offer a demonstration of a canine treatment.

18th Annual Rocky Mountain Cluster Dog Show! Colorado Kennel Club and Plum Creek Kennel Club join together every year for one of the nation's largest dog shows and it is right here in Denver! If you have never attended, it is a great way to spend a winter day and observe several breeds, watch competitions and agility, visit quality vendors and have a lot of fun! Stop by the HTA booth and say hello. We are located in the first room between the front doors. Some street parking is available if you don't mind walking further. Doors open at 9:30 AM. My Furry Valentine is a Pet Super Adoption Weekend that bring together dozens of shelters and rescues, hundreds of adoptable animals and thousands of potential pet adopters from throughout the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas under one roof. Healing Touch for Animals will have an informational booth. Healing Touch for Animals Practitioner volunteers will roam throughout the event and offer treatments to animals awaiting adoption. In addition, Healing Touch for Animals has been asked to provide a 10-minute treatment demo each day!

Come join your fellow HTA Practitioners in a Service Opportunity at W.H.I.N.N.Y. Horse Rescue. W.H.I.N.N.Y., "Why horses in need...need you", was founded in 2202 by Mary and Bill Jones when they realized that there was a need in Eastern Ohio for a facility that would take in horses in need, rehabilitate them, and find them homes where they could live out the rest of their lives in dignity. In addition to the horses, dogs and cats, W.H.I.N.N.Y. also has ducks, chickens, guinea hens and a turkey who could benefit from a treatment. Please RSVP if you are able to make it. And let me know if your plans change and you cannot make it after your RSVP. I'll send a confirmation email with directions and will also contact you if anything changes. Some of us are meeting in Lancaster and carpooling from there; all are welcome to join in from that location.

Practitioners will provide Healing Touch for Animals sessions for former racing greyhounds by donation. All donations will benefit GPI. Rita at GPI says , "Can't wait to meet the new [HTA] folks you bring and to see you. You guys are the best! Diane [Garwood] has made such a difference in our hounds' lives; some go from scared and unadoptable to laying on their backs for belly rubs. I talk you [HTA] guys up like crazy and like to let people know about all the volunteering you do not just for GPI but others. Can't wait."

Peyton, CO, National Mill Dog Rescue is nationally known for their specialized work and care in the mill dog industry. They have rescued and placed in loving homes nearly 7000 dogs to date and also place high priority to educate the public about the life of dogs at these mills and the importance of changing this industry. Our group will be returning for its third visit to offer HTA techniques to help these dogs release trauma and move forward with the amazing care and love they receive at NMDR. We will meet in DTC to car pool down. It is a long way to drive but a very special way to spend your day for a very important cause.
