Animal Scents Ointment
Animal Scents Ointment blends therapeutic-grade essential oils and wholesome herbs into a soothing ointment offering relief for minor skin irritations, cuts and abrasions. The essential oils used in Animal Scents Ointment carries many antimicrobial properties to assist the body’s healing and provide a fresh, earthy fragrance.
Suggested use: Clean area and apply a thin film of ointment directly to the injured area and leave uncovered. The ointment can also be applied to bandage material then secured to the injured area. Apply as needed.

CAUTION!
Using Essential Oils
with CATS
Essential oils containing phenols or benzyl alcohols are highly toxic for cats and should not be used. Phenols and benzyl alcohols are water soluble and rapidly absorb into the cat’s body, causing liver damage. Cats do not assimilate the phenols and benzyl alcohols well, due to the lack of an enzyme that helps to metabolize the oils, causing high amounts of toxicity in the body and could cause serious illness or even death.
It is imperative that the chemical compound in the oil is known before using an essential oil with a cat. Research the constituents of the essential oil before you use it. If the essential oil contains a phenol or benzyl alcohol property, DO NOT USE it. Do not use these oils with a diffuser.
Essential Oils containing Hydrosols are OK TO USE. Hydrosols are safe to use with cats because the hydrosol properties can appropriately process through the cat’s liver. Be an informed practitioner. Keeping up-to-date with key information is vital when using essential oils.
Dilution of essential oils, with a carrier oil, is always recommended when using essential oils with cats!

Application of Essential Oils through Inhalation
I have been in private practice with an energy-based
human business for over twelve years. I also teach advanced practice,
energy-based coursework in the field of energy-medicine education.
In addition to my hands-on and psychotherapy practice, I use essential
oils on a limited basis. Although I have some clients who expect
the oils when I work with them, I don't feel that I actually understood
their impact on health and healing until I experienced them in the
HTA Level 4 class.
I used essential oils while working with the horses in Carol's class
this last weekend and what I witnessed was nothing short of miraculous!
The demo horse that Carol worked on had had surgery on his leg. At
first the horse was so sensitive to Carol's presence near his leg
that he danced away from her as she attempted to smooth the surgical
site with the healing oil. When she offered the horse a sniff' of
what she was attempting to apply, the horse visibly settled with
understanding. He didn't move at all as she made the second attempt
to apply the oils down his leg. He dropped his head, settled into
his stance and accepted the application willingly.
The horse that I offered the oils to, showed not only an understanding
of what they were for by eagerly accepting them (moving closer, breathing
deeply and holding very still, almost like she was savoring them),
but also responded with a deep calming reverence (relaxed breathing,
dropping her head and licking, not even moving a muscle and a glazed
over look, as though she were in meditation). An added benefit was
that this particular mare was pregnant and her unborn foal also responded
to the oils by stilling and relaxing.
The peacefulness in the barn encompassed not only the horses and
practitioners, but extended out to all the other critters. If they
can have this effect on 5+acres, I am eager to see what impact they
have on my human clients (their families and households) when applied
with more understanding and intention.
I feel that I learned an amazing amount this weekend about things
I thought I knew. That in and of itself is a joy, but the people
I was able to share the weekend with I consider a welcomed addition
to my referral base and the 'best of the best' when it comes to animal
care.
